Colour Analysis – Exclusive to Wintle & Rose
We are proud to be the only salon in Plymouth offering Colour Analysis.
During this service, we place drapes over your shoulders to determine your skin’s undertone (cool or warm), then guide you towards the hair colours, make-up shades and clothing tones that naturally suit you best.
You can even go a step further and discover your season, our perfect palette for hair, make-up, clothing and accessories. It’s like having your very own Gok Wan moment in Plymouth!
Our Mini Colour Analysis is just £24 and we recommend it for every guest having colour.
Most people believe they know their undertone, but trust us, so many get it wrong!

Deposits
A 50% deposit is required to secure all appointments.
For rebooking's, deposits are due 7–9 days before your appointment.
Deposits are deducted from your service or kept on your account for future bookings.
Cancellations/rescheduling within 72 hours are non-refundable.
An Email appointment reminder is sent out 48 hours before your appointment
A reminder text is sent 24 hours before your visit.
Skin Testing
We require all new colour guests to have a skin test at least 48 hours before their appointment.
If you’re an existing guest but haven’t coloured your hair in over six months, we’ll need to re-test you.
Colour Charges
We use a parts and labour pricing system for all colour services.
Your service price covers the time, skill and expertise of your stylist. The colour products used during your appointment are then charged separately based on the amount required to achieve your desired result.
All colour charges include Epres Bond Repair as standard. We do not add a premium charge for Epres; you are only charged for the actual product used during your service.
Our colour charges are calculated solely on product usage, and no additional profit is added to the colour cost. This ensures a fair and transparent pricing structure, where you only pay for the products required for your individual hair needs.
If you would like an estimated colour cost before your appointment, please ask your stylist during your consultation and we will be happy to provide guidance.
Before Your Colour Appointment
Please arrive with clean, dry hair.
Modern ammonia-free colours work best on fresh hair.
Before Hair-Up or Make-Up
Hair-Up
Please wash and dry your hair the night before or the morning of your appointment.
Make-Up
-Exfoliate the night before
-Arrive with clean, moisturised skin
-You’re welcome to bring any products you’d like us to use
Before your Colour Analysis
Before Your Colour Analysis Appointment
-To get the most accurate and valuable results from your colour analysis, please arrive prepared as follows:
-Please arrive with no makeup and freshly washed hair
-We take photos during your appointment, which you may wish to share with family and friends
-Wear a lightweight top , preferably a v neck t shirt, so we can clearly see your natural colouring
-Please bring a cardigan layer if you tend to feel cold
-If you would like to apply makeup after your colour analysis:
-Feel free to bring your own make up bag.
-If you are not having the mini makeover upgrade, you are welcome to use our mirrors to apply your makeup afterwards
This helps us ensure your analysis is as accurate, personalised, and enjoyable as possible.
Additional Consultation Time
There may be occasions where we feel it’s important to book additional consultation time to ensure we fully understand your goals before your appointment.
For example, if you are changing stylist within the salon or if a detailed consultation has not been carried out previously, we may add an extra 15 minutes to your appointment to allow time for an in-depth discussion and clear alignment.
This additional consultation time is charged at £10 and be added to your service.
Our focus is on getting your hair goals right We believe in thoughtful, consultation-led appointments, never rushing you and never guessing.
This extra time allows us to deliver the best possible result for you.
Teaming Up
For longer colour appointments, we may assign two stylists to work together, ensuring your visit is efficient and enjoyable. Additional time with a second stylist is charged at a fixed rate per 15 minutes £12.50.
What to Wear
We take protective clothing seriously, and while rare, colour accidents can happen.
To avoid any issues:
-Avoid hoodies and roll-necks
-Keep arms and legs under the gown
-Wear older clothing just in case
-Dress warmly in winter, our beautiful old building can get chilly!
Wintle & rose cannot be held responsible for damage to personal clothing.
Feel at Home
Bring food, laptops, chargers, anything to make your visit comfortable.

Pricing
Our Prices Reflect the ever-changing market. They can fluctuate due to increases within the business at any time. Please check our booking system for prices or get in touch.
Our prices are based on:
-Time
-Technique
-Stylist level
-Thickness, length & complexity
-Colour/product usage
On-Time Arrival
Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to get you settled comfortably.
Late arrivals may result in a shorter appointment as we must honour our schedule.
Or, in some cases, the appointment needing to be rescheduled and loss of deposit
Service Timing & Additional Charges
Every appointment is tailored to you. In most cases, we gather all the information we need in advance to plan your service accurately.
However, occasionally additional time may be needed due to:
- Hair thickness or length
- A change in service or desired result
- The complexity of the style or colour
If this happens:
- We will always communicate with you during your appointment
- Additional charges may apply where extra time or product is required
Changes to Your Appointment
Sometimes we may need to move your appointment slightly.
We will contact you with plenty of notice if we need to adjust your appointment.
